Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 10 Oct 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Emerald Wizard Studios ("Emerald Wizard", "we", "our" or "us") is a game studio based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to:
our games, including MathOn, Stargazer and DiscPods, and any other games we publish, on every platform and store where they are available (together, the "Games");
demo, playtest, early access and other pre-release versions of our Games;
our website at emeraldwizard.io, including the forms on it;
our support, feedback and community channels (together with the Games and the website, the "Services").
The platforms and stores you use to get and run our Games (for example Steam, the Apple App Store and Google Play) and other third-party services linked from our Services have their own privacy policies. They are separate from ours, and we encourage you to read them.
This policy replaces the version dated June 28, 2024. Section 13 contains additional information for residents of certain regions. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
2. Information we collect
Most of the information we collect is needed to run the Games and their online features. We do not ask for your payment card details inside our Games: purchases, where offered, are handled by the Platform or store you use. Not every category below applies to every Game.
Information you provide
Platform account information: when you sign in with or link a Platform account (for example a Steam, Apple, Google or Game Center account), we receive the information that Platform makes available to us, such as your Platform user identifier, display name and profile picture. Some Games create a guest or anonymous player identifier instead of requiring an account.
Profile and identity choices: display names, nicknames, room or lobby names, avatars, appearance and other customisation choices you make in a Game.
Content you create or send: text chat, voice chat, in-game creations, feedback, bug reports, survey answers and other material you submit through the Services.
Support and request details: your name, email address and the details you give us when you contact support, send feedback or submit a data or account deletion request.
Purchase and redemption records: confirmation of purchases, subscriptions, rewards and redemptions made through a Platform or store, including the item and amount, but not your payment card number.
Information collected automatically
Device and technical data: device type and model, operating system and version, hardware and performance characteristics, display settings, language, Game version and settings, identifiers assigned by the Platform, your device or our service providers, IP address, approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address or network, and connection quality.
Gameplay data: progress, levels, scores, statistics, achievements, unlocks, virtual currency and item balances, match results and standings, play time, settings and preferences, and similar records of how you play.
Multiplayer and session data: matchmaking, lobby and session information, connection and latency measurements, the identities of players you play with, and actions you take toward other players such as muting, blocking, kicking or reporting.
Diagnostic data: crash reports, error and performance logs, network quality measurements and, where you choose to share them, game logs. Logs may incidentally contain information about your device and session, including the display names of players you played with.
Analytics data: events about how the Games are used, such as sessions, features used, matches played and rewards earned, collected through analytics tools where permitted by law or with your consent.
Social data: friends or contacts from your Platform account that you choose to use for invitations, invitations and referral codes sent and received, and presence information shared with your Platform friends.
Communications: text and voice chat is transmitted in real time to the other players in your session. We do not record voice chat. Text messages may be processed automatically to block links, spam and abuse.
Information from third parties
Platforms and stores: when you sign in with, link or purchase through a Platform, we receive confirmations and information from that Platform, such as identifiers, display name, avatar, friends list where you allow it, purchase and entitlement confirmations, achievements and leaderboard data.
Advertising partners: some of our mobile Games show advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. Those networks may collect device identifiers, approximate location and ad interaction data under their own privacy policies. Where offered, you can remove advertisements through an in-app purchase.
Service providers: our hosting, backend, analytics, advertising and communications providers may generate identifiers and technical data when providing their services to us.
Website
When you visit emeraldwizard.io, our website hosting provider collects standard web data, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit, and uses cookies and similar technologies. Information you enter in a form on the website is sent to us and stored by the hosting provider. See Section 7.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and operate the Services: sign you in, create and maintain your player profile, save and synchronise your progress across devices, run matchmaking, multiplayer sessions, leaderboards, achievements, events, rewards, virtual currency, in-game messaging and voice chat, and deliver the content and features you request.
Keep the Games fair, safe and secure: detect, investigate and prevent cheating, tampering, fraud, spam, abuse, harassment and other violations of our Terms and Conditions; apply penalties; verify purchases, rewards and referrals; and protect players, our systems and our rights.
Improve and develop the Games: understand how the Games are played, find and fix bugs and crashes, balance gameplay, improve performance and network quality, test features, and plan new content and products.
Process purchases and rewards: deliver and record purchases, subscriptions, rewards, promotions and referral benefits made available in a Game, and prevent their abuse.
Support and communicate with you: respond to your questions, bug reports, feedback and requests, and send you service messages such as notices about updates, changes to our terms or policies, and matters affecting your use of the Services.
Show advertising in Games that are supported by advertising, and measure its performance.
Comply with the law: meet our legal and regulatory obligations, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Other purposes with your consent, or as otherwise described to you when we collect the information.
Where we rely on your consent, for example to collect analytics or diagnostic data in a Game that asks for it, we use the information only for the purposes you consented to, and you can withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 11.
We may also create aggregated or de-identified information, such as player counts and gameplay statistics, that does not identify you. We may use and share that information for any purpose.
4. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another region whose law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on the following bases:
Performance of a contract: to provide the Games and Services you ask for under our Terms and Conditions, including sign-in, saving progress, multiplayer, leaderboards, purchases and rewards.
Legitimate interests: to keep the Games fair, safe and secure, prevent cheating, fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, understand and improve the Games, respond to you, and run our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Consent: where the law requires it, for example for analytics and diagnostic data collected in a Game that asks for your permission, for optional features, and for cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it.
Legal obligation: to comply with laws that apply to us, such as tax, accounting and consumer protection laws, and to respond to lawful requests from authorities.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only as described below.
Other players: when you use online features, other players can see certain information about you, as described in Section 6.
Platforms and stores: the Platform you use (for example Valve for Steam, Apple or Google) receives and processes information needed for sign-in, purchases, entitlements, achievements, leaderboards, friends, invitations, presence and the Platform's other features, under its own terms and privacy policy.
Service providers: companies that provide services to us, such as cloud hosting and backend game services (authentication, player profiles, cloud saves, matchmaking and lobbies, multiplayer connections, server-side game logic and configuration), voice and text chat, analytics, crash and diagnostic reporting, advertising in advertising-supported Games, website hosting and forms, email and support tools. These providers may process your information only to provide their services to us and in line with our instructions and their own commitments.
Advertising partners: in Games that show advertisements, advertising networks collect information directly from your device to serve and measure advertisements, under their own privacy policies.
Legal, safety and enforcement: we may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, a court order or a lawful request from a public authority; to enforce our terms and policies; to investigate or prevent fraud, cheating, abuse, security issues or harm to any person; or to protect our rights, property and safety or those of our players and others.
Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, sale of assets or insolvency, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
With your consent or at your direction: for example when you choose to share something publicly or ask us to share information with someone.
6. Multiplayer, chat and public information
When you use online features, some information about you is visible to other players by design.
In lobbies and matches, other players can see your display name, your Platform profile picture where the Game shows it, your in-game appearance choices, your team, status and readiness, your match results, placements and statistics, and anything you say in text or voice chat. The host of a lobby can see who is in it and can remove players from it.
Public lobbies can be found and joined by other players, and their names and settings are visible in the Game's lobby browser.
Leaderboards and rankings show your display name, Platform profile picture and scores to other players of that Game, and may also appear on the Platform, for example in Steam leaderboards or Game Center.
Achievements, presence and invitations may be visible to your Platform friends through the Platform.
Referral and invitation codes you share identify your player profile to the person you give them to.
Text and voice chat is delivered live to the players in your session and is not recorded by us. Other players may record or stream their own screens and audio, which can include what you say and do. Please do not share personal information in chat, in names or in anything you create in a Game. We may filter text automatically to block links, spam and abusive content, and we may restrict a player's chat as described in our Terms and Conditions.
Your Platform's privacy settings control what the Platform itself shows about you, such as your profile, friends list and play activity.
7. Cookies and our website
Our website is hosted by a third-party website platform, which uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, keep it secure, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. Some of these cookies are strictly necessary for the site to work; others, such as analytics cookies, are used only where permitted by law or with your consent. Where the law requires it, a cookie notice on the website lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking new ones. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works.
Forms on our website, such as our deletion request form, are provided by our website platform. The information you enter is sent to us by email and may be stored by the website platform under its own terms and privacy policy.
Our website and Games may contain links to third-party websites and services, such as store pages, community servers, feedback boards, social media and music platforms. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United Arab Emirates. Our Platforms and service providers operate in other countries, including the United States and countries in the European Union, so your information may be transferred to, stored in and processed in countries other than your own, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country.
Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another region that restricts international transfers, we rely on safeguards recognised by the applicable law, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or equivalent contractual commitments from the recipient, or on another lawful basis such as your consent or the need to perform our contract with you. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards we use.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In general:
Player profiles, progress, purchases, rewards and statistics are kept while you continue to use the Games and until you ask us to delete them, or until they have been inactive for an extended period and we decide to remove them.
Matchmaking, lobby and session data is kept for the duration of the session and a short period afterwards.
Text and voice chat is delivered in real time and is not stored by us. Our communications provider may hold messages briefly in order to deliver them and to detect abuse.
Diagnostic and analytics data is kept for a limited period needed to analyse and improve the Games, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Support requests and correspondence are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and keep a record of it.
Records of enforcement actions, such as restrictions and suspensions, are kept for as long as needed to apply them and to prevent them being evaded.
Records that we must keep by law, such as records of purchases, or that we need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, are kept for as long as the law or the claim requires.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period until they are overwritten.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration and disclosure. These include encrypting information in transit, limiting access to those who need it, protecting saved progress against tampering, and relying on established service providers that maintain their own security programmes.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help by keeping your Platform account and devices secure, using strong passwords and two-factor authentication where your Platform offers it, and by not sharing your account. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, please contact us.
11. Your rights and choices
Choices within the Games
Analytics and diagnostics: where a Game asks for your permission to share gameplay data and diagnostic logs, you can change your answer at any time in the Game's settings.
Voice and chat: you can mute your microphone, mute or block other players, and adjust voice settings in the Game.
Names and appearance: you can change the display name and appearance choices that a Game lets you set.
Advertising: in advertising-supported Games, you may be able to limit ad tracking through your device settings and remove advertisements through an in-app purchase where offered.
Platform settings: your Platform's privacy settings control what the Platform shows about you.
Website cookies: see Section 7.
Uninstalling a Game stops any further collection through that Game.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
have your information deleted;
receive your information in a portable format;
restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
ask for a person to review a decision made solely by automated means that significantly affects you;
not be discriminated against for exercising your rights; and
complain to a data protection authority in your country.
How to exercise your rights
You can exercise these rights by submitting a request through the deletion request page on our website or by emailing us at the address in Section 15. Tell us which Game and Platform you play on and the identifier the Game or Platform shows for your account, so that we can find your records. We may ask for additional information to verify that the request comes from you or from someone authorised to act for you, and we may decline requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive or that would affect the rights of others. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Please note that:
deleting your player data is permanent and removes your progress, virtual currency, items, rewards, statistics and leaderboard entries for the relevant Games, and we cannot restore them afterwards;
we delete the information we hold and ask our service providers to delete what they hold for us; information held by a Platform under your Platform account, such as your Steam, Apple or Google account, profile, friends, achievements and purchase history, is controlled by that Platform and must be managed through it;
we may keep certain information after deletion where the law requires it or where we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, enforce our terms or prevent fraud and abuse.
12. Children
Our Games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the higher minimum age that applies in your country, without the consent of a parent or guardian where the law requires it. The Platforms through which our Games are distributed set their own minimum ages for holding an account and making purchases, and our Terms and Conditions require players under the age of majority to have a parent's or guardian's permission.
Where a Platform tells us that a player is a child, or a Game is offered in a children's category, we limit the collection and use of personal information as required by applicable children's privacy laws.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us using the details in Section 15 and we will delete it. Parents and guardians can also use device-level parental controls and the Platform's family settings to restrict purchases, communications and play time.
13. Additional information for certain regions
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Emerald Wizard Studios is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Sections 4, 8 and 11 describe our legal bases, international transfers and your rights. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing, and we will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work or where you believe a breach occurred.
United States. We do not sell personal information. In advertising-supported Games, advertising networks may collect device data to serve and measure advertisements; where that activity qualifies as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under a US state privacy law, you can opt out through your device's advertising and tracking settings and, where offered, by removing advertisements through an in-app purchase. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of certain profiling, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Section 2 describes the categories of personal information we collect and Section 5 the categories of recipients. You can exercise these rights as described in Section 11, including through an authorised agent.
Brazil. If you are in Brazil, you have the rights provided by the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, portability and deletion, which you can exercise as described in Section 11.
United Arab Emirates. We process personal data in accordance with the UAE's personal data protection law. Residents of the UAE may exercise the rights described in Section 11.
Other regions. If the law of your country gives you additional rights in relation to your personal information, you can exercise them by contacting us.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Games, our practices or the law. When we do, we will post the updated policy on our website and change the effective date at the top. If the changes are material, we will take additional steps to notify you where the law requires it, such as a notice in a Game, on a store page or on our website. Your continued use of the Services after an updated policy takes effect means that the updated policy applies to you, except where the law requires your consent to the change.
